Gary Tinkler
Managing Director of Data Centers
As Managing Director of Data Centers, Gary Tinkler is spearheading Northern Data Group’s growing global footprint of purpose-built High Performance Computing (HPC) data centers. His expertise and passion for all aspects of the data center industry allows him to shape the future, embracing the adoption of rear door cooling and future technologies including liquid cooling for sustainable, efficient and highly flexible environments.
Gary has spent nearly three decades in data center management, overseeing client satisfaction, technological innovation, and reliability during a period of exponential growth in processing capacity and computing demand. He has held leadership roles across virtually every aspect of the industry, including sales, design, engineering, installation and operations.
Prior to joining Northern Data Group in 2024, Gary served as VP of Global Business Development for USystems, where he developed the sustainable liquid cooling business, ColdLogik, which was adopted by a range of leading HPC data centers. He previously served as Director of Solutions Engineering at AFL Hyperscale, an international provider of data center support solutions. Earlier in his career, Gary worked in senior sales positions at Wesco Anixter, Green Mountain AS, and Equinix.
He is a Certified Data Center Design Professional (CDCDP), a Certified Data Center Sustainability Professional (CDCSP), and qualified in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Installation.
